Ten Thousand Villages

“I’m just a woman trying to help other women.”

The lady who once spoke those words was Edna Ruth Byler. During a trip to Puerto Rico, she decided to help an impoverished woman who embroidered by purchasing her goods and reselling them when she returned home. That effort has since blossomed into a path of economic hope for over 20,000 disadvantaged artisans.

More than a store, this non-profit believes in putting people and planet first. They strive to be a global maker‑to‑market movement which breaks the cycle of generational poverty and ignites social change. They are a way to shop with intention for an enormous variety of ethically-sourced wares.

It should go without saying that a few pictures in this window cannot come close to accurately portraying the full inventory of over 20,000 artisans. Visit their website to see a tremendous selection of high quality goods.
