To Write Love On Her Arms

“I believe God works in love, speaks in love, is revealed in our love.”

TWLOHA holds a special place in my heart. They march straight into a battle many don’t want to talk about. They broadcast messages of hope into the lives of all - with a special emphasis on those who struggle with depression, self-harm, addiction, and suicide. They work to connect those who struggle with help.

To fund their work, they sell a large selection of clothes and accessories cool enough to fill the trendiest surf shop.

Here is a link to the blog post which sparked the movement; it’s one of the most important and beautiful pieces of writing I’ve read. Also, I made an exception and included two videos here because Anis Mojgagi’s poem “SHAKE THE DUST” at HEAVY & LIGHT deserves to live on.

“Tell them to look up. Tell them to remember the stars…

The stars are always there, but we miss them in the dirt and clouds. We miss them in the storms.

Tell them to remember hope. We have hope.”
