The title of ‘in His words’ originated when I was weary of hearing many people saying many different things about Christ and wanted to know what he actually taught as opposed to so many different people said. I was uncertain about that name for a long time. However, a moment came when I realized anyone who does what he teaches is in His Words. And thus, the name became a certainty - the latter meaning having greater importance than the first.
He did not merely teach 2000 years ago, he teaches still. He will reveal himself to those who practice what he teaches.
Letters
To all
The teaching of Christ is to love. First, to strengthen love itself where it is found and second to love one another as we love ourselves. Imagine the results if everyone were to practice this teaching.
I believe in the goodness, wisdom, and value of this teaching so I intend to work for its honor. Any good that came through me was when I was treating my neighbor like I would want to be treated. And, many times I have not done this.
For those who prefer evidence
The biggest and most important evidence is this - do what he teaches and you will learn that His Words are alive.
However, should you need other evidence, we have much now that they did not 2000 years ago.
Has any person had a larger impact on the world? I don’t believe so and I don’t believe it is even close. As an example, it’s easy to keep track of how long ago he came because humans changed the way they kept track of time because of him.
More importantly, consider all who have changed, even marginally, because of his teaching. Because of him, repentance and forgiveness of sins have been preached to all nations - beginning in Jerusalem. How many people have you met that changed themselves, even if only for a moment, because of his teaching? It is likely you know many such people, but even if you do not, you are reading the words of one such person. More, many have changed themselves, nor merely for a moment, but permanently. Forgiving when they once held grudges. Practicing saving lives when they once practiced destroying them. Remember this teaching, if you forgive others, your sins will be forgiven. But, if you hold their sins against them, your sins. Then, the next time you forgive another because of this teaching, you will know that he is still affecting the world.
He said, “repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations beginning in Jerusalem” 2000 years ago and it has happened. In six words written in only one book, we are asked to ‘do this in memory of me’ and how many have done so?
To those who call themselves Jews
I would not believe Moses if it were not for Christ. However, because of Christ, I also believe Moses.
To those who call themselves Christian
You might have a recipe for the best thing in existence. Certainly, if you wish to prepare it, you must learn the recipe first. However, no amount of study brings the thing into existence. Similarly, if you say you follow the recipe but actually take different steps, you still have not brought the thing into existence.
To those who call themselves Muslim
I know little of Islam, so I can write little from that perspective. However, from my knowledge the faith does claim that Christ is the Messiah, the Word of God, the servant of God, one who will restore peace on earth, and more. However, it also claims that Christ was not crucified. I have learned some of what Christ teaches. This is his teaching - that we are to love each other to the point of laying down our lives for our friends. He teaches that saving life is good and that stealing, killing, and destroying it is bad.
There was a child who ran to meet a suicide bomber and died saving the lives of many others. This is the teaching of Christ in action. The laying down of one’s life is not the suicide bomber - one on a mission to kill and destroy - it is the boy who jumped in front of him. Perhaps this child had never heard of Christ, but he lived according to Christ’s teaching of love so let him be remembered in both faiths. The teaching of Christ was not one of mere words - it was with his blood. You do not have to believe this to know the following - I believe Christ was crucified, I believe this is what he teaches, for this reason I am willing to jump in front of bullets aimed at others, to save, not to destroy.
To those in the science community
Many of you value truth and insight - things I also value. Many of you have helped to make my existence better - thank you. Many of you are skeptical at best about what you call ‘religion’; to be sure, I also am skeptical about what you call religion. It was largely for this reason I worked on creating this website. However, there are some things I’m not skeptical about. I hope that by sharing some of them it may help you.
Consider germ theory. Now, consider that some things are transmitted without carbon based transmission (think yawns which can be transmitted on a long distance facetime call). I encourage you to use some of the same principles of germ theory to look at enthusiasms. Perhaps this is a love or hatred of a sports team, a type of cuisine, a way of managing employees, a political stance, or something else. Consider the origins of different inspirations and desires - consider how those inspirations and desires are transmitted. Sometimes through a book, a tv show, a lecture, or observation. Such a study is not unscientific - rather, to deny such a study would be unscientific.
Words can live. Have you ever taken orders from a supervisor? Have you ever given orders and had them followed? Have you ever followed a recipe? Ever taken directions from a map? Did that not translate from mere words into flesh, action, and reality? This is not to discount flesh, action, and reality - the opposite! Rather, it is to say that words and, deeper, enthusiasms are to be taken into consideration when examining the fabrics of existence.
In your considerations, know this. The writing of this letter came from a desire to do the things Christ teaches. This teaching has been with us for thousands of years, and I have confidence it will still be with us long after my flesh is gone. Look up the definition and origin of the word Immanuel if you wish to see this teaching for what it is.
Thus, his teaching is not merely with pen and ink or soundwaves - it has minds and voices, hands and feet, and in this case, a small website.

My belief is that love loves all, love benefits all. My belief is that love saves.
For this reason, I write these letters.

Get up. Keep trying. No matter what you’ve done, keep trying to become better.
I say this for your own sake, but I say this because it benefits all.

Item description
There is much I don’t know. However, I am still a student, still trying to learn. Here are some of the things that I have learned…
A recipe for the greatest meal in the world might exist. If a person wishes to prepare the meal, they should first learn the recipe. However, no amount of diligently studying that recipe will prepare the meal - in order to prepare it, they must carry out its directions.
These teachings did not come from me. They were shared nearly two thousand years before I was born. However, they have come through me - to you.
I do not see the teachings most clearly merely in pen and ink, or in mere soundwaves. Rather, I see the teachings most clearly through action and flesh. I believe that anyone who practices what he teaches (which is love) because he teaches it will realize that their flesh is the pen and their actions are the ink and he is the hand which paints with love. To put it more succinctly - his words live through all who practice them. Because of this, his words, very literally, have hands and feet and eyes and ears and impact.
Inconsistencies
It seems beneficial to address the inconsistencies.
There are some who say no such discrepancies - exist. This is not true. Upon examination I’ve found many inconsistencies.
At first glance, such inconsistencies may seem to invalidate the contents. After all, how can you trust a story when those who tell it do not have identical details? However, this also is not necessarily true. Imagine Newton’s Principia Mathematica was only passed down to us in fragments contained in textbooks. Next, imagine those textbooks had discrepancies. Would this invalidate the principia? Not at all! This would simply mean the textbooks had discrepancies and that we should be careful examining the contents passed down to us. Now, I am not here to say the principia is accurate or not. Rather that, if there were errors in the transmission of it, this would not invalidate it.
Likewise, countless people over the years lived and died saying this was the most valuable book in the world. Should we throw the whole thing away if we find small pieces of dross? Is it not better to look and see if there is truth or value in what has been passed to us?
For those who can only see the physical, I encourage you to consider germ theory. However, replace the word germ with the word enthusiasm. Open your eyes to the paths of political dogmas, or sports fanatics, or fashion trends. Yawns are contagious - even when transmitted through a video call from another country. I imagine if you try a study, you will find they spread even through a video where the person who made the video is deceased. Such enthusiasms can be transmitted through many things - including words. Christ describes such enthusiasms.
For those who only see “survival of the fittest”, I encourage you to consider the way of the stars in the sky and the behavior of organs in the body.
However, Christ’s teachings are different than those of the Principia in a profound way. Yes, it is true
He testified, not merely with soundwaves or pen and ink, but with his flesh and actions. His words have been transmitted to us on paper, but not merely on paper. The same man who testified, “Love has none greater than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” actually laid down his life. Countless disciples have followed suit.
Such martyrs have lit a fire which I believe is unquenchable. They have and continue to wage a war where, instead of firing bullets, they throw themselves in front of them - protecting, not destroying. Each death cements dozens more students. I cannot think of any strategy that will quench this flame.
Yes, this voice, the one which transmits
I have no evidence of the miracles. More, most of my life I have gone my own directions and thus cannot claim anything of myself - except catastrophe and heartache. However, for small portions of my life I have done what he said because he said to do it. During these moments, I have been brought good things to others - because this is what he teaches. Because of these moments, my knowledge is experiential and no one could convince me his words are not alive any more than they could convince me that I’m not happy or sad or whatever emotion I am feeling at that time.
I doubt I would believe in the miracles if it were not for his teaching. However, because I have found his teachings so profoundly accurate, truthful, insightful, beneficial, and living, I cannot help but believe in the miracles even though they astound me.
More than 2000 years ago, one voice said, “forgiveness and repentance of sins will be preached in my name beginning at Jerusalem”.
More than 2000 years ago, one voice said “heaven and earth will surely pass away, but my words will never die”.
Isn’t that enough time to, at the very least, examine what he teaches?
It is easy to keep track of this time, because we have literally changed how we record years because of this same man.
The teachings of this man describe how the stars shine and how organs in the body function.
His teachings accurately describe how the stars shine and how the body holds together.
He taught that all things will be known. At the time, how strange must that have sounded! Yet, what if you told someone sixty years ago about dna testing? What would they have thought?
He taught that, in the day of judgment men will give account for every careless word they have uttered. How strange that must have sounded then! Yet, now, how many of our words are actually recorded already?
Although I do believe in the miracles, I don’t claim to know where the edges of the inconsistencies are.
However, his voice is not transmitted with pen and ink and words and letters (although it is that also). Rather, I hear his voice most clearly when I find people practicing love because it is what he taught.
However, the inconsistencies remain.
And if nothing else. He preaches love. If there was a God over me who preached ‘hate or die’, I would rather die. I find it likely I will someday have that choice to make. However, it is a choice I will make again and again until Christ’s kingdom is established.
